Healthy Substitutes for Junk Food

Hey guys, We often hear about the vicious effects of junk food on our bodies. still, we are not able to control our cravings for junk food easily. But here's a susceptible way to deal with this is we can go for healthy substitutes at that time, which can satisfy our craving as well as good for health. 

Junk food can be appealing for a variety of reasons like Taste and Convenience, It may appear especially appetizing but not healthy at all. 
So here's the best way to lessen the consumption of junk food is to eat other alternatives which can act as substitutes for junk food.

 Substitutes for few commonly consumed junk foods:-


Sweet Potato fries are easy to make and can be used as a good substitute for the craving for potato fries.
Procedure to make:- 
  • First, peel the sweet potatoes and cut evenly sized fries.
  • After cutting them into pieces give them a cold water bath.
  • Before moving on next step make sure that the slices are properly dried out, you can use a towel to make them dry sooner.
  • Then coat them with coconut oil.
  • Sprinkle some sea salt and black pepper (according to taste) on fries.
  •  Final step: Flip them 2-3 times while baking, so that all the sides will be baked properly. (At the end bake them on high heat for a while, so you can get crispy fries)
Now, your healthy and crispy sweet potato fries are ready to eat, enjoy it with tomato ketchup or any other dip.

Instead of any unhealthy dip such as mayonnaise etc. consume hummus as a dip.


Colourful Ice creams which we often see in the market are really attractive in colour and flavour But these are not healthy Because it contains ample sugar and artificial colours. So, here I want to recommend healthy homemade fruity ice cream with less sugar.
Procedure to make:-
  • First, take some cream in a bowl and then add sliced fruits to it such as bananas, mango, apple etc. 
  • Mix them well and pour into the blender jar, blend them until you get a smooth mixture. (mixture must be thick in consistency, don't add watery substance).
  • Then add powder sugar into the mixture and mix it properly.
  • Now at last add dry fruits and cherries into the mixture and pour it into the airtight container and keep it in the freezer.
After some time when the mixture will be properly frozen, your delicious healthy ice cream is ready to eat.


Packet chips have a high quantity of monosodium glutamate and flavour enhancers which are seriously bad for your health and can lead to various health issues. So, here I recommend you a good healthy substitute for packed chips is air-popped popcorns. 
Procedure to make:-
  • Heat a non-stick pan.
  • Put some butter into it.
  • Then add salt into it as per taste.
  • Then put corn kernels into it and stir well. Now cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Keep them popping but make sure you are shaking the pot every second (otherwise here's a chance of burn).
  • Now in few seconds, you will notice your delicious popcorns are all ready to eat.


Whole Wheat Pasta and Veggies make this dish healthy, But along with nutritional yeast seasoning, it becomes healthier.
* 6 cups wheat pasta (uncooked)
* 2 chopped onions 
* 1 chopped green pepper 
* Chopped mushrooms (as per taste)
*2 handfuls of fresh spinach
* 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste.
* 4 tbsp tomato ketchup 
(Number of servings:- 6️)
Procedure to make:-
  • Put pasta into boiling water.
  • When pasta is cooked then strain it and put it into the is cold water.
  • Coarsely chop veggies while cooking pasta.
  • Drain pasta, rinse in cold water and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan and saute onions and green peppers.
  • Add mushrooms and spinach, saute until veggies are soft and spinach is wilted.
  • Add marinara sauce and simmer on low for 5-10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and sprinkle nutritional yeast on the pasta.
Delicious and healthy pasta is ready!!
